Success is not measured by what we acquire,
but by what we enable for others

The inspiring journey of K. Zainul Abideen

from the hamlet of Peringathur to the forefront of the Middle East's retail revolution.

The Roots

Humble Beginnings

"My journey wasn't paved with gold; it was built on the values of family, the lessons of struggle, and an unwavering faith in the future."
Born in the serene village of Peringathur, Mekkunnu, into the respected Kavullathil family, I was the sixth of eight children born to Mammu Sahib and Pathumma. My father, a charismatic man known for his agricultural heritage and social grace, passed away in 1976. His legacy of dignity and social connection became my guiding light.
My early education at Madhyambath LP School and Chokli Ramavilas High School taught me the basics, but life taught me resilience. Losing my father while I was in the 10th grade forced me to grow up quickly.

The Migration

From Struggle to Strength: The Beginning of a Journey

Following in the footsteps of my elder brother, Abdul Hameed, I migrated to Qatar in 1978. Those early days were a test of character—from a failed stint in Bombay to surviving on meager earnings. I faced rejection, including being fired from a textile shop for not knowing Hindi, but I never lost hope.

To bring world-class retail experiences to the common man. Today, Safari is a testament to the power of partnership and vision.

Entrepreneurial Journey: The Climb

From Cassettes to Hypermarkets

My business life began not in a boardroom, but in a small shop.

The Cassette Era: I started by selling audio cassettes. With no digital entertainment available, music was the people's solace. My knack for handwriting lyrics and curating "Hijaz" movie packs made us a household name among expatriates.

01

Resilience in Failure

I faced a massive setback when my shop, worth nearly 9.5 Lakh Riyals, burned down just days after the insurance expired. I lost everything, but I refused to quit.

02

The Retail Learning Curve

I ventured into textiles, fast food, and eventually the supermarket business ("West Bay Complex" & "Tasty Buds").

03

The Safari Revolution

In 2005 with the support of many we launched safari hyper market in salwa road

Philanthropy

The Heart of the Mission: Empowering Society, One Life at a Time

I believe that true social progress is achieved only through education and mutual cooperation. My philanthropic efforts are dedicated to uplifting the underserved.

Healthcare

Currently serving as the Chairman of the Malabar CH Centre, Thalassery. I have actively supported CH Centres in Kozhikode (donating a dialysis machine), Thrissur, Trivandrum, and Kannur Pariyaram.

Education

spearheaded the committee to establish a High School in Peringathur, raising 18 Lakhs. I serve as the Vice Chairman of Kallikkandi NAM Arts & Science College and support Wafi Darul Huda colleges.

Compassion Projects

One of my most cherished memories is organizing a flight trip for disabled children and their parents. This project was not just about the flight; it was about breaking the social isolation faced by the families of differently-abled children.
